Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions govern registration and entry to the Endurance Series and use of the Endurance Series website.

Please read these terms and conditions in full prior to registering a team for one of the Endurance Series routes.

Registration confirms acceptance of these terms, if you do not accept these terms please do not register.


The (Challenge) Event:

  • The Endurance Series (the event) is a charity event in accordance with the Charities act 2011.
  • The aim of the event is to raise funds for Walking With The Wounded (WWTW), registered charity No. 1153497 in England and Wales and in Scotland No. SC04760. Our registered office is: 42 Canada Street, Manchester, M40 8AE
  • Details of the event can be found on WWTW website: Home - Endurance Series.
  • The event will take place Sunday 14th September 2025.


The Organiser

Walking With the Wounded are the Organisers of the 3 events options, Power, Conquer and Endure and associated safety measures and site provisions leading up to, during and after the event.


Changes, Postponement, or cancellation

Cancellation or changes made by us: WWTW may need to make changes to, postpone or cancel the Event further to circumstances outside their control with/under the direction of Emergency Services and major event stakeholders/landowners. WWTW will contact you if this happens.

WWTW reserves the right to remove participants from the course during the course of the Event if it is believed that entrant is putting other participants at risk.

Cancellation by you: If for whatever reason a participant needs to withdraw from the Event, event registration fees will not be refunded, entry fee is non transferable and non refundable. However, if a participant cannot take part in the event due to a reason such as injury they may be swapped out prior to the event. Please contact us to discuss.

Sponsorship money: If the Event is cancelled, or you decide not to participate and you don't swap out your place to another individual, you are responsible for contacting your sponsors to inform them that you are no longer taking part and for confirming with them whether they are happy for the money they have donated to still be given to WWTW. If you are using sponsorship forms for your fundraising, all sponsorship forms and monies collected should be forwarded to us or returned to your sponsors in accordance with their wishes.


Entry

Entry to the event is:

  • Available as an individual in all events (Power, Conquer and Endure) or teams made up of four persons in Power and Endure.
  • Via the event website and subject to payment of the specified registration fee.
  • Subject to availability.

WWTW reserves the right to refuse entry to the event of individuals, teams, or both.

Entrants:

Event entry will not be confirmed until the Event entry fee has been paid. WWTW will provide confirmation once entry fee has been processed.

Entry is on a first come first served basis and once the Event has reached capacity no further applications will be accepted.

Event entrants are required to:

  • Submit valid participant details at the point of application or by 1st September 2025. Substitution of team members is permitted up to two weeks prior to the event. All changes must be communicated to WWTW before the cut off deadline. Changes made after this date are at the discretion of WWTW.
  • Pledge to raise as an individual the sponsorship target of £350 for Power and Endure and £150 for Conquer (excluding Gift Aid and the registration fee) to raise sponsorship funds for WWTW.
  • Acknowledge that the Event is a fundraising event in aid of WWTW exclusively.
  • Pay all funds raised by the fundraising deadline of 6 weeks after the Event, into WWTW (using WWTW's advertised paying in methods).Ideally, we would like your money facilitating support for veterans as soon as possible.
  • Agree that no funds raised will be paid to any charity other than WWTW or used for any personal expenses.
  • Adhere to utilising designated areas provided for the smoking of cigarettes and e-cigarettes.

The minimum age for Endure and Power is 18 years or over on Saturday 13th May 2025 a, all entrants must confirm they will be at least the minimum age on the day of the event. Participants of all ages are welcome to take part in Conquer.

Entrants under the age of 18 must:

  • Be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • Inform a parent or guardian that they are fundraising for this event.

Due to the aim of this event, a participant who makes little effort to fundraise may politely be asked to reconsider taking up entry to subsequent WWTW challenges or events. If you have any concerns or worries on this, please speak to the fundraising team who are there to support your fundraising endeavours.


Disabilities and medical problems

WWTW challenges are open to participants of all backgrounds, we will do our best, where reasonably practicable to cater for any special requirements.

If you have a medical problem or disability which may affect your involvement in the Event we ask you to contact WWTW beforehand to provide us with full details when signing up for the event. Information you provide will be handled in confidence and in line with GDPR.

Before we confirm your booking, we will advise as to the suitability of participation and endeavour to assist you.

If we feel unable to suitably accommodate your particular needs, we will not confirm your entry or, if complete information is not given at the time of signing up, WWTW reserves the right to restrict entry on the grounds of safety.


Participant Guidelines

Participant guidelines are for the benefit of participants and to help us to ensure a safe and successful event the aim of which is to raise money for veterans who may require support, some of whom you will meet.


The hazardous nature of the Event

This event involves sustained physical exercise.

By registering to participate in this event you agree to the below:

  • Must be in an adequate physical condition to participate in the Event, will put in some training and have consulted a doctor about your participation if you have a medical condition or concerns.
  • In the event of an accident or illness while taking part in this event, you give consent for Event staff to initiate medical treatment and to inform your emergency contact in case of hospitalisation.
  • Confirm that to the best of your knowledge you have submitted, as part of the online registration, a true and accurate description of your medical history and current condition and agree to inform WWTW of any medical or other condition that might affect your ability to take part in the Event.
  • Understand WWTW will NOT carry insurance in relation to your participation in the Event. It is your responsibility to obtain any necessary insurance in connection with the Event.
  • Understand that WWTW reserve the right to alter the course for safety purpose where it is deemed individuals are putting others at risk (refer to cancellation or changes).


Registration

Registration opens at 6am on Sunday 14th September. It is each participant’s responsibility to ensure that registration is completed in good time prior to the start.

Power – This is a team event and your team must be made up of no more than 4 persons.After a team has completed registration substitution of a team member will not be permitted.

Conquer – Individual registrations only for the Conquer 10km challenge.

Endure – Endure is an individual or team event.Teams can be made up of no less than 2 and no more than 4 persons. After a team has completed registration substitution of a team member will not be permitted.

If you as an individual or a member of your team are deemed to be inadequately equipped or prepared for the event by the organisers, you may be disqualified on safety grounds. A list of essential kit items will be provided to all participants in advance.


During the event

Participants must:

Display/wear your allocated participant identification number.

Not be transported by vehicle along any section of the course or between any points on it, unless required to do so by injury or formal withdrawal from the Event.

Not fail to comply with safety order notices issued by Event marshals.

Not act in a way that endangers yourself or others or act unfairly to gain advantage during the event; this may result in disqualification.

Agree to behave in a way that does not cause offence to or endanger fellow participants, event staff or the public, and does not in any way bring WWTW into disrepute.

Use the litter and recycling bins at the start/finish location.


Withdrawals and Injuries

If you wish to withdraw from the event, you must first report to the registration or contact Event Control.

POWER - Where a team member feels the need to withdraw, it is the responsibility of remaining team members to ensure that the organisers are aware of the withdrawal as all team members are required to be on course at the same time. The team may continue with the remaining members, once event officials have been notified of the withdrawal.

Any team member who is injured or exhausted during the event must be brought to the nearest medic or marshall for assistance. If the casualty cannot be moved, one person must stay with them while the remaining members seek help.

Under no circumstances is a casualty to be left unattended.


Results and awards

Only registered participants and teams that complete their challenge within the relevant cut-off time will be featured in the official results.


Our Liability

WWTW are the organisers and are responsible for the running of the event. WWTW holds appropriate Public Liability Insurance for the purposes of this event. This insurance covers claims made by third parties for personal injury or property damage arising from the negligence of WWTW or its authorised volunteers during the course of the event.

Participant Responsibility

All participants, attendees, stallholders, and volunteers attend and take part in this event at their own risk. WWTW accepts no responsibility for loss, injury, or damage to persons or property, except where such loss or damage is proven to be caused by the negligence of WWTW or its authorised representatives.

Participants are strongly advised to:

  • Ensure they have adequate personal insurance to cover their involvement in the event, where appropriate.
  • Take reasonable care for their own safety and the safety of others.
  • Follow any instructions or safety guidance issued by the event organisers.


Data Collection

During registration and participation of the Event, WWTW will collect personal data from you and your team members.

By registering to take part in the Event you understand and agree that:

  • You understand it is necessary for WWTW to obtain your data (including medical information) for you to participate in this event.
  • You are consenting to receive email and postal communications from WWTW regarding the Event.
  • We may process and use the personal data collected for administrative, research and publicity purposes.
  • Where consent is given, we may use your details to send you information about future events which we think may be of interest to you and you may opt out at any time by using the link provided.
  • We do not sell or swap your details with any third parties and service companies authorised to act on our behalf to carry out our work.
  • We will keep your details on our database so we can provide you with the best possible support every time you contact us.

Use of Photos and Videos of the Event

You agree that by entering the Event:

  • You give us permission to use your name (and that of your team, team members and organisation that you represent), voice or picture in any broadcast, telecast, advertising material, or other account of the Event.
  • Film and interview material taken at the Event of all participants and any supporters may be used by WWTW to promote the Event and other WWTW events in the future to further support the charity. WWTW retain all rights, title and interest in such photography or media made by or on behalf of WWTW and have a licence to use any material shared with WWTW by participants either direct or publicly on social media.
  • You will obtain permission from the copyright holder when uploading nonofficial photographs and/or videos to social media. Infringement of copyrighted work is subject to penalties including fines, which is often borne by WWTW for infringement on our sites. When permission is obtained from a copyright holder, please retain it for your records. This is to ensure your hard-earned fundraising efforts are used to support our work with veterans and their families.


Accommodation

WWTW is not responsible for participant accommodation during the Event. Camping is available on site and booking accommodation is a responsibility of the participant.


Complaints

We want you to enjoy this event and we work hard to try and foresee issues. If however a complaint arises, these should be directed to any member of WWTW staff present at the Event, or, if that is not possible, then in writing to complaints@wwtw.org.uk as soon as possible after the Event.


Force Majeure

WWTW will not be liable for any issues arising from a force majeure event which prevents its delivery of the Event in any way, including (but not limited to) acts of God, threats of terrorism, industrial action and/or other events outside its control.


Governing Law

We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation.

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and the courts of England have exclusive jurisdiction to hear or settle any dispute or claim arising from them.
